Restylane comes in several different variations of facial fillers to target certain areas and levels of severity:

Restylane

The very first Restylane product is a mid-grade dermal filler designed to target moderate to severe wrinkles and nasolabial folds, the under-eye area, and thin lips. Results can last up to 10 months.

Restylane Lyft

Restylane Lyft is one of the strongest facial fillers available. With the ability to support a lot of tissue, Restylane Lyft has outstanding lifting capability. It has been designed to raise drooping skin of the face, volumize deep wrinkles, and improve sunken areas of the face. It is also frequently used for the jawline and cheekbones. Restylane Lyft can last up to 18 months.

Restylane Silk

What to expect during treatment

First, Dr. Maercks will carefully choose the injection site. He will then clean the area thoroughly. Using a special technique and a fine needle, he will then inject the Restylane solution just below the dermis. The gel will enter your skin and combine with your body’s natural hyaluronic acid, binding to water.

After the injections have been completed, Dr. Maercks may massage the area to ensure that it’s even and smooth. Restylane contains lidocaine to minimize any discomfort during the injections (those with a known allergy to lidocaine should inform the doctor immediately). In certain cases, Dr. Maercks may use an additional numbing agent.

Recovery and results

Bruising or redness are common after a Restylane treatment, and the injection site may feel “full”. An ice pack will reduce swelling. Patients should avoid alcohol, exercise, heat, and sun exposure for 24 hours after treatment. Most adverse reactions will fade within one week. Restylane results can last anywhere from 6 to 12 months, depending on the patient. At that point, the patient’s natural metabolism will break the filler down and clear it away. Results can be maintained with touch-up treatments (using less filler) after the initial results fade.
