About Renuva

Renuva is an exciting new injectable treatment that can enhance volume in areas where fat naturally exists. This treatment is composed of processed donated fatty tissue, also known as allograft adipose tissue (1), that creates a scaffold within the treatment area. The injected formula is slowly replaced by new fat cells generated by the body, leaving natural-looking results and improved volume.

Preparation

Preparation for a Renuva treatment is minimal and straightforward, as this is a non-surgical procedure. However, patients should ensure they are following any instructions provided by Dr. Maercks or another member of our team for optimal results.

Patients may be asked to discontinue certain medications or supplements that may have blood-thinning properties. If applicable, patients should cease smoking several weeks before treatment, as nicotine can inhibit healing. It is also highly recommended to limit alcohol consumption before and after the appointment.

Procedure

During the procedure, a topical anesthetic will be applied to ensure each procedure is comfortable. Dr. Maercks will then carefully inject the treatment area with the Renuva formula, ensuring even distribution. He can use Renuva to address a variety of areas and concerns, including the hip dips, breasts, penis, scrotum, buttocks, and cellulite. The duration of each injection session can vary depending on the size of the area being treated, but this procedure is quick compared to surgical procedures. It is often completed within 30-60 minutes.

After Your Treatment

Following a Renuva treatment, the patient is welcome to either return to their daily routine or return home, as there is little to no downtime associated with Renuva. Bruising or swelling may be experienced at the injection sites, but these effects are temporary and will gradually subside on their own. Patients should avoid physical activity and strenuous tasks for about 24 hours following their treatment. Any further aftercare instructions will be provided by Dr. Maercks during a personal consultation.

Results

Patients might see some improvements immediately after receiving their Renuva injections, but the final results of the treatment will become more apparent over three to six months as the Renuva matrix is slowly eliminated by the body and replaced by the patient’s own fat cells.
